"DON'T LET FROGGING GET THE BEST OF YOU"

There is absolutely no way to make that dark word sound pretty; mention frogging around individuals who knit and crochet and surely you might hear, "UGH!"

Frogging can be concluded as the ugliest term in modern crafting glossaries. However, in the past and for some reason, frogging was not listed within any written crafting works for crafters to note its existence. Crafters were aware of what it was, but it formally didn't have a name, or something as such.

So, what is frogging?

You have spent two weeks crocheting a beautiful cardigan, and as you are placing it into a gift box, you realize you missed a stitch- leaving a tiny hole located on the third row.  The cardigan has forty-two plus rows. It's time to start frogging. Yeah, it can be an ugly situation...it can bring the most experienced crafters to tears. Take deep Breaths and take a break!!! Yes, you must pull the project apart (frogging) and start again, if desired, at the second row.

For most, a break might be needed- a few minutes, a day or two, while for others a break is defined as tossing the whole-darn-thing in the trash...that's how frustrating frogging can be. Not caring if the skeins were the most expensive. (Forget the headache of it all). Again, like the title says, "Don't let frogging get the best of you."

TIPS TO SURVIVE THE FRUSTRATION:
▪Listen to your favorite music.
▪Call a fellow crafter and share frogging stories...it really helps.
▪Start a new project and return to the "froggy" one at a later time.
▪Leave it alone! Put on the brakes to save your sanity! As the saying goes, "It is what it is." Better yet, keep the "oops" project for yourself, or give it to an individual who won't mind the tiny imperfection.

FROGGING ADVICE: Never pull the project totally apart and allow the yarn to form a pile, as displayed in the posted photo. It will tangle in the worst way. As you are frogging, form the pulled yarn into a ball.

What's your ugliest frogging ordeal? Ugh!
